Stainless Steel: These are the most common and effective appliances used for the majority of orthodontic cases today. Small metal brackets are bonded to the front of your teeth and then arch wires are attached horizontally through the brackets. Elastic ties then hold the arch wires to the braces. Clear Braces : These are non-metal, tooth-colored appliances that we generally place on adults. They allow for a more aesthetic look during the treatment phase. A small fee difference applies.
Invisalign® : Monroe Orthodontics is a Certified Invisalign® Provider. This appliance system provides you with a series of clear, custom-fit, removable tray aligners that are attached to your teeth and worn in place of braces. 
The aligners can be taken out for eating, brushing and special events and allow a more aesthetic look during the treatment period. Invisalign® has limited applications and must be determined on a case-by-case basis.
Invisalign Teen®: In certain cases, the Invisalign® system can be used for treating teenagers. We can best determine this after reviewing your individual case. Among the advantages Invisalign® provides young orthodontic patients is the opportunity to clean their teeth more easily than traditional braces. They can also remove the aligners for events like proms or pictures, monitor their own compliance with a built-in compliance indicator, and get replacement aligners at no additional cost if they are lost or damaged.
