Best Age to Start

What’s the Best Age to Start Treatment?

We generally recommend a child have their first orthodontic screening at age 7. In some cases, dentists or parents may want to bring their child in sooner. Since each patient is a unique case, early and regular screenings allow Dr. Monroe to recommend the best time to start treatment. Children most often begin orthodontia at the onset of their adolescent growth spurt – generally between ages 9 to 14. Adults may undergo treatment at almost any age, depending on the status of their teeth, gums and jaw relationship.
